To unexplored areas: what is HHCP, how is it formed, effects and product offerings

The strongest jungle ruler: What is HHC-P?

This exotic synthetic cannabinoid, also known as hexahydrocannabiphorol, was born in the lab and is derived from HHC. Its chemical structure is similar to HHC, but it has a 2-carbon longer alkyl chain, giving it new properties. Its pure form as a viscous oil can range in colour from pale yellow to deep amber.

HHC-P also resembles another well-known cannabinoid, namely THC-P (tetrahydrocannabiphorol). The similarity of HHC-P to THC-P lies in the seven-carbon tail, suggesting that the two cannabinoids might share common features. HHC-P and THC-P are a fierce duo in the cannabis jungle, with HHC-P gaining a reputation as the most powerful ruler of the tropical forest.

Effects of HHC-P: Tropical storm intensity?

Thanks to its longer alkyl chain, HHC-P binds perfectly to the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2 in the endocannabinoid system (ECS). In 2019, Italian researchers found that THC-P is up to 33 times more potent (active) on CB1 receptors than conventional THC. AND HHC-P? It's speculated to be an even bigger wildcard.

Once HHC-P hits the receptor binding sites in the ECS, the effects appear within minutes and can last for hours. It's to be expected:

  • good mood and euphoria
  • stress relief
  • relaxation
  • better sleep
  • increased appetite

But be careful, when travelling through the jungle there can also be unexpected problems.

Be wary of unexpected experiences

HHC-P can surprise as much as a sudden downpour. Since it is a cannabinoid with psychoactive properties, it can alter perception and produce (especially at excessive doses) side effects such as:

  • dry mouth
  • rapid heartbeat
  • anxiety
  • redness of the eyes
  • sleep problems - insomnia
  • dizziness
  • paranoia

These possible side effects are based on knowledge of analogue derivatives or cannabinoids known to be psychoactive. As the saying goes, the greater the adventure, the greater the risk of danger. Little is yet known about HHC-P, so it is crucial to have a proven and reliable guide on hand and to start with the lowest possible dose. For now, no studies have looked at the side effects of HHC-P.

On an expedition to paradise in bloom: The HHCP product range

And where can you find the king of the jungle? Although it has only recently gained our attention, there is already a wide variety of different products on the market containing HHC-P.

Vapes, cartridges and liquids with HHC-P and HHC offer an escape into the heart of a tropical oasis. They are also usually supplemented with CBD, the famous non-psychoactive sibling with potential therapeutic benefits.

HHC-P flowers have a high CBD content and a permissible amount of THC, but their secret lies in the HHC-P distillate with which they are infused. Inside the flowers, cannabinoids and terpenes act synergistically, which can lead to a more potent effect. You may also already come across HHC-P hash, gummies and distillates.

When adventuring with HHC-P, always consult experienced guides and choose certified products that have undergone lab analysis.

 Caution first

It seems that HHC-P could be the king of the cannabinoid jungle, but at the moment we have little information and no studies to confirm its potency. It's important to have an experienced guide with you who knows the routes when you're on a cannabinoid quest, because you never know what's waiting for you behind the next tree.
